Attorneys are leaving money on the table every single day, simply by letting potential clients go who cannot afford to pay. We get it. You need reliable revenue coming in. You can’t afford to take an I.O.U. Who could?
In this interview Jason Brown, of IQualify Lending, breaks down the program they have developed that is meeting the needs of both attorneys and potential clients. The IQualify program has been evolving over time allowing attorneys to finance their clients in a sense. Recently, they have made adjustments which has overcome previous impediments that were holding potential borrowers back; including lowering the minimum credit score accepted in an application.
The advantages for both attorneys and clients are numerous. The system generates multiple offers from different lenders once a potential borrower is accepted. Again, this is allowing the attorney to be paid upfront. The client can now afford the attorney he or she wants and deserves and is put on a low, manageable finance plan. Additionally, the borrower can apply for additional funding if costs in the case at some point exceed the retainer paid to the attorney such as expert witnesses, for example. An added bonus is from the attorney side, should a client default on the loan – collecting is not your cross to bear. IQualify leaves you out of the mix.
On the borrower side, in addition to the easy application and generally high acceptance rate, if a client has a credit score lower than 550 or has other issues stopping the loan, any family member or friend can also apply.
IQualify now covers all practice areas, with the exception of direct bankruptcies and personal injury contingency-based cases. This interview is definitely worth a listen for any attorney who is looking for a way to ensure payments, take on more cases and in the end, generate more secure revenue.
